Last week’s MOTB Greek Paul Project Colloquium was a tremendous success. Hosted and co-sponsored by New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, we enjoyed four wonderful days of scholarly engagement, lively conversation, and genuine camaraderie with contributors to the project.
The colloquium began with a welcome dinner on Sunday evening, followed by three full days of morning papers, shared lunches, afternoon excursions, and no shortage of laughter. On Monday, we visited New Orleans’ expansive WWII Museum—an extraordinary site that really deserves more than a single afternoon—then wrapped up the day with muffalettas and po’ boys from Fiorella’s Café. Tuesday brought a swamp tour through Louisiana’s distinctive flora and fauna, capped with a group meal at Cheddar’s. On Wednesday, we explored the French Quarter—where music seems to spill out onto every street corner—followed by dinner at the Gumbo Shop and gelato from Angelo Brocato’s.
I’m especially grateful to Bill Warren for his generosity and collegial spirit, to CNTTS for their steady support (with special thanks to Zach, Davi, and Brandon), and to NOBTS for their warm hospitality—shout-outs to Brianna, Linda, and Sarah for all their help with housing, dining, and coffee. I’m also deeply thankful to the presenters for their thoughtful research, their fellowship, and their willingness to carve out time for such a rewarding event. Each paper was solid and engaging, the Q&A sessions were probing and productive, and I left having learned a great deal.
Daniel Motley and I are now working on assembling the colloquium volume for publication in De Gruyter’s Arbeiten zur neutestamentlichen Textforschung (ANTF) series, with a target release sometime next calendar year.
